Vieux Farka Touré (Opening Act TBA)

Malian master guitarist, vocalist, and social activist Vieux Farka Touré returns to Brooklyn Bowl. Born in Mali, he is the son of the legendary guitarist and desert blues pioneer Ali Farka Touré, who greatly influenced his musical journey. Vieux initially began his career as a drummer but later transitioned to guitar, recording tracks alongside his father before Ali's passing in 2006. His self-titled debut album in 2007 paid tribute to his father's legacy, as did The Secret, which featured a collaboration with Dave Matthews and included the last recording that father and son did together. His most recent works include Les Racines (roots) and Ali, an album created with indie rock trio Khruangbin, showcasing covers of songs originally performed by his late father.
